National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Legal Services (NATSILS) is looking for a highly organised and experienced person to provide administrative support for both NATSILS and the national Justice Policy Partnership.
This is an Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander identified position which is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised under section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.

About the role
The Senior Administration Officer is primarily responsible for providing high quality administrative and secretariat support to the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Legal Service (NATSILS) and the joint secretariat for Justice Policy Partnership (JPP), which is co-chaired by NATSILS and the Commonwealth Attorney General’s Department (AGD).
The position works closely with senior roles within NATSILS and the AGD to assist with the coordination of support and to further the objectives of the JPP.

About you
We're looking for someone who identifies and is recognised in the community as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, and who brings:
- Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training or experience
- An alignment to the values and vision of NATSILS through a demonstrated appreciation of and sensitivity to the challenges our community members face in their fight for justice, equity and self-determination
- Understanding of the histories, cultures, languages, traditions of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander peoples
- Capability to work effectively and respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, organisations, and communities
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills and the ability to prepare draft agendas, papers and other documentation for review in a timely manner
- Demonstrated organisational skills and an ability to effectively prioritise work and manage competing demands
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and collaborate effectively in partnerships with key stakeholders
- High levels of motivation, energy, and a commitment to professional excellence as well as self-determination
- Competent use of Microsoft 365 platforms
- Preparedness and willingness to travel as required.
